Who operates this site
This policy applies to 1in8b.net, an independently operated website. For privacy questions or a removal request, email contact@1in8b.net. It does not cover external websites you choose to visit.
Your game stays on your device
Your current life, preferences, and past-life records are saved in your browser using local storage and, where available, IndexedDB. There is no account or email sign-in. Clearing browser storage can remove these records. Image cards or screenshots can preserve a visual memory, but are not a recoverable backup of an ongoing life.
What you choose to make public
Sharing a life or publishing a memorial is optional. A shared post can include the simulated character’s name, country, sex, age, life summary, your short comment, language, and submission time. A memorial can include the game ending, selected scenes, captions, farewell message, and decoration. These submissions are public: do not include real personal details or information about someone else.
Editing and deletion
The browser that creates a public item keeps a random management key. The server stores only its SHA-256 hash. Use the available edit or delete controls from that browser; deletion removes the item and its interactions. If you lose the key, contact us with the public URL. A public item remains until it is removed, and third parties may already have copied it.
Operation and abuse prevention
Cloudflare delivers the site and stores public submissions in D1. The service uses a daily hashed network rate-limit key that is no longer used after 24 hours, and a temporary pseudonymous session that is no longer counted as active after 10 minutes. Expired records are physically removed during later cleanup, which can occur after those periods on a quiet service. The active record can include a simulated country, age, and page state. The application does not store plain IP addresses or log API request bodies. Infrastructure providers may process ordinary connection and security data under their own policies.
Optional Google Analytics
Analytics is off until you choose “Allow analytics,” and it is unavailable when no measurement ID is configured. With consent, Google Analytics receives a page view for the canonical page URL, without its query string or hash. We do not send simulated lives, character names, posts, messages, or a user account ID to Google Analytics. Advertising storage and personalization are disabled. Google may process browser and connection information and analytics cookies. Use “Analytics choices” in the footer to change your decision; declining disables further measurement and removes this site’s Google Analytics cookies.
Contact and changes
If you email us, your address and message are used to handle that request. Avoid sending saved-game files containing information you do not want reviewed. We may update this policy when site features or processing change; the date below identifies this version.
